Weekend diving in Swanage. This event is suitable for both experienced & newly qualified divers (to do their first sea dives under the pier in shallow calm water).
For the newly qualified divers: We’d dive under the pier on the Saturday and then a couple of easy boat dives on a couple of wrecks (maybe the Valentine tanks) on the Sunday.
Experienced Divers: Can do boat trips to some of the local wrecks
Non divers welcome as there is plenty to do in the town and the Saturday evening meal out (pub near Corfe Castle) is always a great night out.
Attendee would book their own accommodation to suit their own preferences. If anyone likes camping there is a lovely campsite called "Burnbake" which is close by.
We would base ourselves out of the scuba van which we park on the pier. Kit hire is free to all members although you'd have to hire a wetsuit from the dive shop which is also on the pier.
The club has done this trip many times. Simon and I did this last year and it was a really good dive.
Costs: Diving under the pier is free although you have to pay a very small amount to get onto the pier. As mentioned above your accommodation is up to yourselves. Wet suit: £15 per day. Tank fills: £5.00. Boat fees: from £20 depending on which dive site you go to. Diving under the pier is free although you pay a £5 entry fee to get onto the pier.
This is a great weekend especially if the viz & weather is on our side.
Who fancies going to this event at the O2.? We'd book & go as a group. Currently tickets are some £50 and £60 but are selling out VERY FAST so we will need an answer by 8pm this Sunday evening (5th August). https://www.theo2.co.uk/events/detail/blue-planet
